Marathonisi and the blue waters of Laganas Gulf

From the south coast outward

More than one beach day.

Stay near Laganas Gulf, then choose a different coast, cove or island route whenever the mood changes.

A flexible island base

The best beach choice depends on the day.

Zakynthos is known for contrasting coastlines: long sandy beaches in the south and east, smaller coves around the gulf, and rockier landscapes in the north and west. Staying close to Laganas gives convenient access to the south coast without limiting the holiday to a single shoreline.

Some beaches and sea zones form part of protected loggerhead turtle habitat. Follow current National Marine Park signs, seasonal restrictions and guidance from responsible operators.

Start nearby

Three directions for the next swim.

Laganas Gulf

A broad sandy coast with beach services in many sections and access to organised boat excursions.

Agios Sostis

A smaller waterfront area west of Laganas, with views towards the gulf and the footbridge to Cameo Island.

Wider Zakynthos

With a car, Vasilikos, Keri, Marathias and northern coves can each become a separate full-day route.

Beach days with context

Plan around distance, wind and the group.

Families may prefer easy access and nearby facilities, while stronger swimmers or couples may look for quieter coves. Sea conditions, shade and access can change the experience, so ask locally before committing the whole group to a long route.

Divine Villa also gives you a private pool day when the coast is busy or the group wants a slower pace. That freedom is often more useful than being tied to one beachfront location.
